The club runs a few of these during the year and in a few different formats and locations. One of these is the “taster session” that is held at our grounds in Ashby-De-La-Zouch where you spend 1 Hour on a Sunday morning learning basic techniques and shooting at a target with all equipment supplied and this is limited in space and we can only have 12 people so booking a space is needed. The other format is the “have a go” seen at Calke Abbey and the Ashby show at these you just walk up pay for an amount of arrows and shoot them guided by a member of the club. All of these have proven very popular in the past and lead to new member of the club.
Our club run 2 of these during the year. The format for these is based over 4 sessions of 3 hours where you learn all the safety rules and drills how to setup and take down equipment. We also go over the components of a bow and the arrows along with the different styles of Bows and disciplines. We also cover scoring and round off the course with a little competition where you get to put everything you have learnt into practice with prizes too. Once you complete the course you will be issued with your certificate which is mandatory by all archery clubs for you to join their club.
Details of all dates and fees and contact details for booking a place can be found in our events section.
